SASSA Takes Expert Services to Fernie Community

Tuesday, August 27, 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render services into the community.

SASSA will be rendering services including new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency mentioned it truly is alarmed with regard to the high number of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The intention in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a high range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no entirely functional office dedicated to service the area daily. The company stage designed for intervention activities a large inflow of potential beneficiaries, which makes it complicated for your office to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more sources to empower the servicing of all sassa status consumers and boost use here of Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
